Het Weerwater lake

Almere is a water city with the Weerwater the most popular area for water recreation pursuits. Weerwater, which borders Almere Stad, was created when sand was excavated for the Almere Haven district. The lake is separated by a kind of peninsula on the far side. Various opportunities exist here for leisure, with plenty of beaches such as Stedenwijk beach, Atlantis beach, Fantasie beach and the Lumiére beach.

To enjoy yourself out on the Weerwater, hire a canoe or boat from any one of the various providers on the waterfront. Out on the lake is the perfect vantage point to take in some pretty impressive views of the Almere skyline.

There’s a cable driven, water-skiing course directly adjacent to Fantasie beach offering fun water-skiing on the lake.
