Topsportcentrum
This huge complex has a floor plan measuring 100 x 70 metres, and is 15 metres high at its tallest point. The robust form, result of the briefed requirement for two separate halls, left little room for articulation of the silhouette. This shortcoming is compensated by the facade cladding, with black ceramic tiles which are available for use as ‘screen pixels’. Photographic images of exciting sporting events are ‘projected’ onto the black background by means of grey, blue and white tiles.
